Hello, everyone!!!
It feels like years since I have posted!! I apologize for not posting this yesterday, I did not realize it would take so long to get my life in order after being gone for only a week. I have been so excited to share my trip to Turks and Caicos with you!!
We stayed at this BEAUTIFUL hotel, The Somerset. I highly recommend checking it out if you are planning a vacation to Turks anytime soon. The staff was so friendly. I actually had tears in my eyes when I hugged them goodbye.
I took tons of pictures of the hotel grounds, the flowers were my favorite part of the whole thing.
This was the view from our balcony.
And I didn’t hate the view on the inside either.
My favorite thing about Turks is how blue the water is. I have been to a lot of beaches, and I will say that Turks has the prettiest water.
Anyways, there’s not much to tell about daytime activities. My dad took us sailing for a few hours one day, and we frequently ate lunch at this lovely place on the beach named Caicos Cafe.
I mostly floated around in the water and tried to catch some rays while reading books. I only finished one of the three I took because I spent too much time people watching, does anyone else do this? I hope so or else I just made myself sound creepy.
I read See Me by Nicholas Sparks and it was SO GOOD! If you are a Sparks fan you should definitely pick it up (it reminded me a lot of Safe Haven.)
We also went on a private boat tour around the island and got to see some beautiful beach houses that were all built along this secluded canal tucked behind the island.
This was my favorite house.
Afterward, we went snorkeling, and I saw a beautiful black and white polka dotted fish with bright yellow fins that I just loved
Also, just an FYI, in Turks and Caicos stray dogs are called Potcakes. I found this to be quite hilarious and if you want to adopt one it is apparently very easy!
Each night we went to a fun place for dinner. There are a few that I would consider MUST EATS on the island.
Grace’s Cottage not only has a beautiful atmosphere, but they also make the best sea bass I have ever eaten.
I had the pistachio encrusted sea bass with citrus sauce and roasted butternut pumpkin and it was DIVINE.
We finished out the night with chocolate martinis, YUM!
Another MUST EAT is Coco Bistro.
Coco Bistro is actually inside of a coconut/palm tree nursery so when you look up from your seat you see this…
The palm trees create the ceiling, that, combined with the minimal lighting made for quite a lovely setting!
I ordered the homemade ravioli of conch and flame grilled sweet peppers with a piquant Rose sauce, fresh arugula, homemade pesto, crisp fried beet chips and fresh parmesan cheese.
It was also REALLY GOOD.
Honorable Mentions:
I had a lot of people ask me where I got the swimsuit and cover up shown in my IG’s so I decided to link the items on here…
cover-up//sunglasses (or via DITTO)//hat
star straw clutch//top//bottom//hat//sunglasses
Overall it was a relaxing trip and coming back to a full week of classes is really making me question why I returned.
ONLY 6 MORE WEEKS OF SCHOOL LEFT…
that’s crazy.
Happy Tuesday!!
